Workouts That Will Fire Up Your Metabolism
When you are busy and have little time, fitness goals seem difficult to reach. You work all day, sit through traffic, and the gyms are over crowded and intimidating. But you can reach your fitness goals with committing as little as 20 minutes a day in the luxury of your own home.
If you are a beginner make sure to give yourself enough rest to complete as many as 2 rounds with little to no rest. These workouts are maximizing fat burning and saving time! The reason why HIIT works is because by taking short breaks, you are keeping your heart rate at a high level which will burn more fat than if you heart rate was at a steady state.
20 minute Total body HIIT (high intensity interval training) Circuit
Take a 30 second break after each move
Jumping jacks 1 minute
Side lunges 30 seconds
Squats 30 seconds
Jog in place 1 minute
Burpees 30 seconds
Alternating leg lunges 1 minute
Jump rope or hop in place 30 seconds
Mountain climbers 30 seconds
Speed skaters 30 seconds
Butt kickers 1 minute
Alternating reverse lunges 1 minute
Squats 30 seconds
High knees 30 seconds
Plank 1 minute
Repeat this circuit 2 times
